There's a photography contest I'd like to take part to,
doesn't have any theme or rules except that the picture must not be of yourself,
also I have to write some 2deep4u toughts, or memories, to go with the picture.
The problem is that I have very little fantasy,
all I do is taking pics of my bike and panoramas so I don't have anything I think has a chance to win.
I'm thinking about heading back to this location in a couple of days to see if I can shoot something nice,
there's gonna be a similar weather as in the pics.
I need some input/advice on what to look for

There's a couple of dams on this lake, some ruins, a church, and some trails.
I think the most interesting spot are the ruins, I coud focus there.
Maybe try to find a nice view to frame trough one of the windows of the buildings that still stand.

do a wide landscape-esque shot of your naked belly and write "I remember when I could see past this"
I'm kinda serious though, are you sure this has to be 2deep4u? I think it's probably more important that it's genuine and creative, the judges are going to have piles of mysterious empty landscapes with attached platonisms about time to sift through

>are you sure this has to be 2deep4u?
Not necessarily, but I'm sure a lot of the entries are going to be.
And you raised a very good point, with my idea above I was thinking about being unoriginal and paraphrase the lyrics of a song called "the sky in a room".
But I should try and find something that stands out...
The landscape shot of my belly is not such a bad idea actually for this.

heh, be careful if you go full retard like that, there's a fine line between making the judges laugh and grossing them out

I was joking

I am just an amateur, but this pic is fucking amazing, if it were larger, I'd make it my computer wallpaper

Thank you, I have a larger one if you want.

just wanted to be safe, on 4chan you can never tell
>Doesn't have any theme or rules
You're free to do whatever you want. That's perfect.
>Photography content I'd like to take part
>problem is that I have very little fantasy
I just entered my first small competition run by my council. It was limited by a theme but I had a very clear vision of what I wanted to achieve and what I wanted to photograph even though the theme was not something I enjoy shooting at all. I made my entry about my father and me doing an activity as I grew up.
Out of 100+ photos. A lot of the entries were your average landscape shots, or your average shot you'd expect to see on flickr or instagram.
If you've got a while between now and the submission date, give it a deep think. Think of something you're passionate about and have an idea of what you want to set out to achieve before picking up the camera.

A week, I feel like having a theme or some sort of directing would make things easier.
My brain just tells me do to what I already know how to do, Ie. the shit you just saw.
But I'm afraid shot like this are too bland.
I might even go down the lazy route and send this one >>2881737
try to come up with and interesting piece of text for it (wich is also completely free in lenght, doesn't have to be a title) and see how it goes.

>A week, I feel like having a theme or some sort of directing would make things easier.
Of course it would, but this could be challenging in a good way.
One thing you might try -- and none of this is coming from experience -- is working backwards. It could be easier to summon up some writing from an open prompt than to shoehorn a description into an uncategorized photo.
It seems from what you've posted that you've got a good setting in mind, there's some interesting shit around which helps. Even if you just write something of a shooting journal, some kind of guideline, it could make the whole process easier to pair these things together.

To be honest I had a few months to think about this, but "I didn't have the time to".
I've had a rough idea of what I wanted but I'm afraid the weather is not gonna be on my side this time, funnily enough it's too god for the shot I wanna make.
>One thing you might try is working backwards.
I actually had the same idea, I've been writing down some interesting toughts in the past couple of hours,
in the meantime I've found some of the winner of the previous contest and their work (I think).
I'm not about to dump them, I'll post a link to their profiles.
