i think robin williams' exploration of the capacity for photography, in its frequent role as an "objective" record of reality, to mislead the viewer - and even outright lie - by manipulating the diaristic family photo format is really clever; quite honestly I'd love to see more work from him, its a true shame that such a bright and promising artistic voice was silences by the criminal justice system.

the conceptual backbone of the series he works on in the movie immediately calls to mind araki's "A Nikki" (1995) for me, really not sure how widely known that one is as compared to some of his other work
