i just inherited this minolta srt 101 with multiple lenses and while learning how to adjust the system i noticed the lens would just pop out when i tested the different lenses only one would "lock" in place all my lenses are branded as minolta

Don't mean to be condescending but are you twisting the lenses on properly?
If you are it's probably an issue with the locking mechanism. Should be a relatively easy fix for a camera repairman

i seem to be for the one that works, for the others the lens release knob does not "click" when i align the others correctly

Check if the objectives have the hole in the place in which the camera has a springed fixating pin.
