I want to know more about editing landscapes / sunsets.
What would you change on this edit?

For starters, the file size.
>>2861199
I did the panorama with jpgs i created from the raw file in LR, I don't know how to edit in photoshop :(
>>2861201
there is a 1000 pixel on longest side maximum on /p/. you need to downsize photos before posting
>>2861205
Oh :( sorry
Crop in horizontally. There's nothing right of the satellite dish or left of the wind vane. if there was more to see or if the sky was still interesting on the edges you could keep it in, but in this shot there's nothing there.
Also consider point farther up next time, unless there is a reason to fill half the frame with foreground in a sky shot, don't do it. If we just got the interesting silhouettes along the bottom 25% and then more sky it might be more dramatic.
Also you can also ways fuck with the colors to make it more Instagram if you want to be hip with the cool kids.

tripod wouldn't extend further ( cheap 20 euro ones
But thanks for the tip ;)
>>2861197
Half your frame is literally nothing at all. Like not even "stuff that's boring" but it's just blackness. Why would that be a good thing?
>>2861277
Not RAISE it, up, POINT it up. As in, towards the sky, so that there's more sky and less blackness in your frame.
>>2861293
Oh, I get it
Thanks :)

I think it is stupid rule for panoramas.
Just do not be an asshole and use jpeg compression. 1-2Mb would be enough for almost everything.

fuck my face and ass, I forgot to upload.

I like to mask in the soft light mode for some extra color when I do sunsets

try doing it by hand
>>2861197
The basic rule to start with is 2/3 sky and 1/3 skyline (or vice versa)

>the filesize
>the comp,
silhouettes are expected w/ sunsets, but maybe limit it to the bottom third instead of having literally half your image be solid black, also this didnt need to be a panorama, it would have been way better with just the weather vane/ antennae looking thing, or that and the agricultural structures on the right
>the technical stuff
you took a 1.6 second exposure and the clouds are still underexposed, why you ask? because you shot it at f22, don't do that. stay between f2.8 and f11
>learn to do these things, then worry about editing
>>2862039
>landscape
>f2.8
u wot m8?
>>2861205
its also ~1mb,
OP just kill the quality a little by compressing it more, its okay to view jpg60 on monitors
>>2862082
it doesnt happen often, but there do occur situations where having a shallow dof if useful for stuff like that, by contrast, there is no reason for you to ever shoot at f22, I agree though, usually I stay between 5.6 and 11
