I went hiking near Edinburgh, Scotland a couple of days ago. I'm looking to get better at shooting nature. These are the photos I took, any comments / criticism would be welcome.

These are all really boring, honestly. The lighting is uninteresting, the sky is hazy and overcast. It might have been a good day for hiking, but not for shooting. Go back out when you have more interesting light.

Fair enough. By interesting light, do you mean like a really blue sky full of clouds and sunshine? Because that would be less interesting / overdone by my opinion.
Also, in Scotland this about as good as weather gets anyway.

Fuck you man, it's been roasting for the past week.

Not nessecarily. Storms can make for some very dramatic photos too. But midday sun tends to make landscapes look very flat and dull. Shooting in the evening or morning will usually give you better light.

Alright, I get it now. The link you gave is quite useful, thanks.
Currently the only camera I have is a Sony travelzoom, which is not the best for shooting evenings and other slightly lower light scenes. That's why I shoot mid-day in the first place.
I'm planning on upgrading to a Sony RX100 soon though.
Oh well, I'm thinking about

>Basic rule of landscapes is to have a Horizon, a Background, a Middleground, and a Foreground.
