Very nearly NOBODY prints big. Most people don't print at all. Some people print small (less than 20 inches, for their friends and family)
Yes, some people print large. But those people are massively few, and enormously far between.
Saying that pixel peeping isn't an insult because it's vital for large prints is like saying that everyone should go out and adjust the camber on their suspension because vital for pro racing.
For nearly all people, it doesn't matter, and there are a lot more important things you should be focusing on that you'll actually benefit from.

He has useful information on his site, and his articles about learning how to make a good shot are all good.
His images are just like everybody elses. He's no artist. He knows how to be in the right place at the right time to get fantastic colors.
He's extremely pretentious and thinks far too much of himself. He assumes his readers are so shit and stupid that he says sharpness doesn't matter. While that might have been true at the time of some of his articles, when digital cameras were all low res and blurry, but even nowadays he's starting to remit on that now that 30+ MP is common. Once you get to the point of technical mastery of your camera, the sharpness of the lens always matters. But, I do get why he starts them off with that. In a way, it doesn't matter, because people can still get good photos with shit lenses. It also helps to get nubs to stop worrying about how shit their cheapo lenses are when they first start. The tradeoff being they end up with only a few shitty lenses when they get good.
He's recommended some really shit lenses before, like the Canon 28mm, which is extremely unsharp at any aperture wider than (I think) around 6, so he's unreliable in reviews. Understandable, since he has incentive to get you to buy everything you see through his links.
Again, I wish to say that his gallery is filled with images that lack any purpose other than having neat colors.

I like most of his film camera reviews and some of his lens reviews(mainly the manual focus ones) but a lot of his digital camera reviews over time start to sound crazy and make him sound like he's making these reviews on a PC from 1998 and that he's cheap and uses extremely low capacity SD cards even though his PC can likely fully handle these large files.
