Moriyama and all the photographers that came out of the Provoke scene really changed the way I looked at street photography compared to the orthodox photos from the early magnum photographers (Cartier-Bresson, Robert Frank etc..)

i dont care much about the rest of what this guy has produced, but this particular photo fucked my shit up forever. i think it has influenced lots of my stuff, subconsciously.
eggleston was once asked to be a weddings photog. he spent all the afternoon drunk as fuck, photographing ashtrays. then he went outside and took a picture of the sky, and that was it.

but thats like ur opinion my man.
as i said, its mostly an unconscious reaction, but i know it had a big impact. "forever" because its effect hasnt worn off and i doubt it will, unlike people like joel peter witkin or gregory crewdson, both of them mesmerized me when i started, but now they dont impress me that much.
Guy Bourdin is pretty good for an artsy/fashion look.
Hard to replicate without a great model though…

never said he isnt. now his latest stuff is a bit lame, all those "covers" of old paintings with political commentaries, dunno, seems uninspired and formulaic. hes been stuck in a style that he mastered and peaked long time ago.
Crewdson will always be my favorite. I know I'll never make anything on his level, but his stuff just has the best feels.

that album is p tight too. bill evans is a god tier pianist. theres few instrumentalists where you can recognize the artist just by the first few notes of playing without any "signature sound" production trickery.
