Does anyone have any experience with using Praktica B-Mount lenses on Canon EF mounts with an adapter?

I have just picked up a 5D and I want to use my old film Praktica lenses I have (50mm f1.8 and 28mm 2.8), but I hear there are issues with the mirror? Info on google is scarce and in horrendous English when I can find it.

Thanks!

It's friggen exactly like any other adapted glass. So long as the flange distance isn't so short it's fucking up your sensor, the only problem you might have is you can't focus to infinity and/or vignetting.

Is there any info about how far back a lens can go before it will hit the mirror? That's my main concern.

look up flange distance for the lens and body

I remember coming across a database thread posted on (I think...) dpreview about mounting glass on Canon's FF cameras. Lots of info on the 6D and 5D3 was on there. Not sure how pertinent it would be to a 5D1, but it's worth a search over there.
