Anyone have experience with a go pro/drone setup? Any advice on recording and shooting with these would be great, considering it for my wedding
Sure. Don't use a GoPro. Use something that's not a GoPro. DJI's own camera isn't bad. Other than that, you should be fine.
They're a lot trickier to fly than you expect. One that's modified with a better transmitter and an FPV setup makes a big difference. It's worth getting a cheap(er) R/C helo and learning to fly with it before you crash your $1k+ drone.
My old shop had an FPV modded Phantom with a GoPro, and it worked quite well, but my boss crashed it pretty badly near that famous bridge on PCH (near Big Sur I think) and had to hike an hour down into the canyon to recover it, and then never fixed it. Range with FPV is pretty badass, though, we had some pretty fun antics with the thing, like once I drove across the street to grab something from Target and he followed me there with the drone, it was absolutely hilarious walking through the parking lot with the thing 10' behind me and watching other people react to it.
