>INB4 your tiny dick
>just got new lens friday
>terrified to scratch it, as even the most minute of 1nm scratches or dust or other artifact renders a lens usefuless forever
>haven't used it but once as a result
Do I have to put the polarizer on every time i take the lens cap off, or does the filter sit under the lens cap?

>anyone who spends more than 100$ on photography is a gearfag
why so poor

Get a desk lamp and some smaller objects and play around with light and composition. Get used to using your new lens so you can streamline your workflow and get better results once you are able to go back out.
>>2752487
It's not a joke, I am scared of that
>>2752469
you know, sometimes I would just do one handed tosses with my DSLR when I was waiting for a train or something and throw it without a lens cap into my bag
It's a tool, not a baby you pussy
>>2752493
>tool which costs often 4 figures and is rendered shit if scratched
>>2752500
A scratch to the front element doesn't even affect your image quality until it's about the size and thickness of your thumb.

Watches are my typical thing for rainy days. Being indoors is great, you can set everything up and light it however you want and there's no fucking bugs to chase after or whatever.

You're joking, right? Get therapy or something.
Make sure you spend a lot of time getting everything clean because highly magnified dust is a huge pain in the ass and you would much rather clean that off beforehand than photoshop it out later.
Also just be creative and you can make a studio out of anything, none of these photos have any fancy backdrops or seamlesses or anything and the fanciest lighting setup I'll bother making is a single flash diffused just right through a sheet of printer paper.

>tfw too poor to buy a $300+ macro lens
Is using an extension tube and reverse ring fine for old manual Nikkor AI lenses?
>>2752594
Better if you have a wide angle and a telephoto lens. You can put the the wide on the telephoto with a reverser ring and you have a close focus corrected lens set (like a real macro lens). You can focus by moving the whole camera (like with a real macro lens) and you have to close the aperture considerably (like on a real macro lens)
Take photos of incense smoke macro'd with flashes.
