They seek out and they usually know my work. Sometimes they want something less sexy, if they are good models I go for it. If they are amateurs, sexy is the easiest way to make a pic interesting.

Some of them use it for their PFs or Insta. Some of them keep it private or facebook it for likes lol.
I started with some pics of my lovely fiancee, some of our friends like it and wanted similar, then their friends I didn't know liked those pics and my PF started to grow. With better PF some starting models reached out to me for free photos. In the meantime I did some photos from the movie sets for my friends from filmschool. On those sets I met some young actresses and some of them liked my pics. With their pics I landed few online publications here and there and now I keep an excel file of waiting models that I can't even keep updated enough.

I use a tripod only for "fashion" work to be honest. I don't need my pics to be super sharp.
For natural light pics I use only a reflector, sometimes I reflect some low power set speedlite from a reflector behind me if the day light isn't enough.

most of the color pics are either processed with film presets for LR with some saturation tweaks, or curves in PS. Most of the BW pics are processed with Silver Effex pro plugin for PS where I manually play with it till I get the result I want/like.

one more thing about the skin, if it's a full body shot or and american portrait I usually just go for the LR spot removal tool for the bigger spots etc.
If I do a close up portrait then I got for frequency separation, spot tools, dodge&burns and all that, which I don't really like - I try to limit time spent on post as much as I can.
