Does this actually happen to people? I just give them a compliment about their clothing/hair and take the picture. Then walk off. Never get into fights and occasionally meet very friendly people. Some dude even gave me his old Bronica + 40mm and 75mm lens. All i did was compliment him on his beard and ask to take his picture.
