i'm guessing you took this because you like the way the light bounces off the wall, and the light shows that it's raining. but it's a boring photo - there's nothing to draw one's eye around the photo or to the subject, and once one looks at the lamp in the center, that's pretty much all there is to it.
to contrast, check out this photo. red ceiling by eggleston. it's also just a light, but one's eyes are led to it by the wires (leading lines), and the unusually strong color makes it pop. this is minimalism done correctly.
keep trying. also, remember to resize, and if you are only going to post one photo, put it up in the 'recent photo' thread and ask for CC (constructive criticism). someone will get to it.
