i'm currently comparing my sony rx100m2 vs a pentax K-x, so i can decide if it's worth to buy the pentax for a cheap price (used).
basically i want to see if there's any real merit to it.
and so far i don't see it. the pictures (in JPEG) look 1000x better on the sony. pentax has oversaturated reds, bad white balance and weird contrast. yes i know, SHOOT RAW, but if even snapshots are already worse why would i put up with the cam?
see next post: the Pentax picture

Well to start with you should at least shoot with a comparable DoF.
>>2705481
i shot with the same f5.6 and (almost) same focal length. why is the DoF different?
>>2705482
The K-x has a substantially larger sensor.
K-x 23.6mm x 15.8mm
RX100 ii 13.2mm x 8.8mm
>>2705483
TIL that actual focal length (physical not mathematical 35mm equiv) and sensor size change DoF. thanks so far.
but the quality problem still stands.
Why so underexposed?
>>2705499
it's dark, didn't want to use flash cause the K-x flash is much stronger, didn't have the patience for tripod.

You could easily made the shutter a stop slower. Also just put the camera on a table or something.
>compares in camera jpegs
>complains
Well hello there Mr Rockwell! I see you're still living up your own arse
Jokes aside, forget the jpegs. Shoot RAW, edit in Lightroom, then compare the differences.
