Can we get a technique/style thread going?

I'm always on the lookout for new ways of taking shots so what is your favourite technique?

Have you been meaning to try something out but haven't gotten round to it?

How does /p/ feel about dutch angles?
>>
>>2697331
Should only be used in the proper context, such as to show action, conflict, tension, etc. Not for the shit shown in that image.
>>
>>2697331
I feel very hateful about it.

could I get some tips/heads-up on the "overpower" style?
>>
>>2697367
1. point strobes at subject
2. set power to overpower the sun
3. ???
4. Profit!
>>
>>2697367

Pretty much what >>2697370 said.

You'll need to be close as fuck with hotshoe flashes or have a lot of them to overpower the sun.

If you've got some beefy studio strobes you can do it ez.

awesome thanks
>>
>>2697331

oh hey I was one of those anons. >>2697336 I agree with wholeheartedly. Dutch angle can be used to transform a scene from simple action to dramatic action. But it's terribly overused in cosplay photography to make a relatively whatever shot look "edgy".
>>
>>2697237
INTERESTED in over power
do you need a high sync strobe?
>>
>>2697331

Ugh...never seen a dutch angle pic that wouldn't look better straight desu senpai.
>>
>>2697605

No. You 'can' do it with high sync however you lose flash power with high speed so you're kinda fighting a losing battle.
>>
>>2697605
Flash exposure is determined by aperture. Dial up your flash power, stop down your aperture, use your highest x-sync speed. Use a low iso and you should be able to kill a good amount of ambient light.
