I figured this is probably the best place to ask this. I'm looking to use up my GI bill eventually. Does anyone know much about degrees in the forestry field? Is it a meme degree? Or will I be able to find a job somewhere eventually? I just want to dick around innawoods for a living
Volunteering at state or national parks is your friend. Have experience with the environment you want to work with. I'm starting my first seasonal work innawoods with a computer science degree, but plenty of volunteer experience.
Forestry degree cant hurt, except financially, but experience is the true true.
Go talk to your state forestry office see if they are offering any wildland fire fighting courses. It's a foot in the door back that up with forest technician papers n you may have a chance at landing something full time.
