Why don't I feel sunburns?

I very rarely burn, but sometimes my neck and nose etc. turn a bit red or purple indicating sunburn. However, I can never feel any of it. No burning, no sensitivity to touch or anything. Other people always complain about how their sunburns hurt so bad, even when they're barely visible, so how come I don't?

Thank those slave and injun genes coursing thru every so called white american

I'm naturally pale with blue eyes etc. but I do tan quite easily. However, when i actually do burn, i usually don't feel it. I think I've felt it once or twice but mostly I feel absolutely nothing

You clearly haven't been exposed to sun as much as you think you were. Good for you, don't get cancer.

>I very rarely burn
because you're always in a perpetual leathery state? or you actually take precautions to prevent it from happening?

when I was younger I used to get burned enough to peel at least once or twice a summer, partly because I burn easily and I don't think I wore sunscreen when I should have....I vividly remember having trouble sleeping after some of those

at least now I try to make sure I always wear a hat and use spf50 if I know I'll be outside even for just a couple hours

this. you probably have some sort of rosacea or other flushing that's triggered by sun.

I'm whiter then paper. I try not to get sun burnt always wearing long sleeves and shit. because looking leathery now, isn't as important to me, as not looking wrinkly and covered in nasty cancer spots 20 years from now. but I can be out in direct Florida sunlight for 4 hours and barely get a crisp.

but one of my aunts can't be outside for more then 15 minutes without getting burnt. and we're the same skin tone.

I guess its all about genes...

You still might get skin cancer which is the upside.
