South I caught this weird caterpillar/worm thing eating the leaves of some pumpkins I'm growing. I flicked it onto the ground and burned it alive with my lighter because it looked like it had done some damage to my pumpkin sprouts. Does anyone know what it is? I feel kinda bad for burning it alive but I had to defend my pumpkins.
Pic related, it's the caterpillar worm thingy. Could it have damaged my pumpkins at all?
This was the leaf I found the little bugger on. Will this Pumpkin still grow properly?

that's just a cotyledon leaf bro. After you start getting more new growth you can just trim those off.
