What are your thoughts on going /out/ in calk boots? i work in forestry and everyone who has them says it makes walking through the woods 5x easier, and is like having 4x4 for your feet Anyone have experience with them?

FYI, You can get waterproof leather boots for cork boots too.
Some leather logger boots are made with little holes in the bottom so you can add, replace and remove cork studs as needed.
Personally, I would prefer leather boots over those rubber things. As a matter of fact, those boots in OP pic look actually like chainsaw safety boots. Probly stiff and heavy with no breathability

you do feel invincible while wearing them, striding though the underbrush like a lumbering, steel toed giant!
that is, until a twig breaks, your foot plummets into a hole and you fell the boot being the only thing holding the structure of your foot together. then you dont feel invincible anymore and your chainsaw lesson for the day is cut short, with hospital and all that bollocks

All leatherboots used in forestry are waterproof, and so are leather boots if you treat them right.
My husqvarna technical xtreme sawingboots started to take in water when i had worn the sole out and the steeltip was exposed underneath.
My scarpa R-evolution gtx plus hiking boots keeps water out as well.
Treat and maintain your leatherboots right and they'll hold water out (rubber boots other hand needs zero maintenance in order to do the same tho)
OT: rubber sawing boots are uncomfortable, heavy and generally just shit in all manners.
