This is going to sound weird, but what do you wear on your head while /out/?

Looking for a new hat. Specifically one with a neck flap because fuck the sun. I like how pic related looks, but it's 100% cotton (hot) and probably poorly made chinkshit. Any ideas?

>Specifically one with a neck flap because fuck the sun
Just do like the Mexican field workers and wear a baseball cap with an unfolded bandana under it and hanging out the back.

A cap and a bandana combination are more useful than a silly hat.
>>
I wear a hat just like pic related. It cost me $3.95 at Walmart and has lasted about 18 months so far, and still going fine. Been through the wash about a dozen times too.

Can't help you with your neckflap conundrum though
>>
>>784001
Do you seriously not take bandanas with you? You should at all times have 2 bandanas on you. I learned this at a young age. And I'm not even mexican.

>regular innawoods action
My old Patagonia baseball cap. Couple years old, sweat stains, torn up, etc. so doesn't matter what happens to it. Can dunk it innariver when hiking then throw back on for that dank relief from the sun.

>super cold out and snowboarding, hunting, etc.
Black balaclava normally with a beanie (dem Yooper winters get mighty chilly)

>out in the sun all day (bass fishing or when I'm not under a lot of tree cover and fly fishing)
I have my cap and a Buff.

Buffs are pretty handy, I originally thought they were just a little granola eating hippy thing until my gf got me one, and I have to admit that I actually use it quite a bit.
>>

So, a tube scarf?
>>
brown bandana

good at absorbing sweat so it doesn't run down your face
>>
>>784001
What is that hat OP, i really like it. Don't mind if its chinkshit
>>
>>784105
Yea those, I just know this one is called a Buff. I've had old military tube scarves but they weren't as nice. I don't know about what other brands you guys would recommend, but that's just the one I have.

I dont know about the rest of the world but they were part of school uniform in the 90's (australian summer sun). We always called them "legionnaires hats".

Palm Sombrero, they are god thier when it comes to sun protection
>>
Shemagh. Literally the best headgear for almost every situation. Just don't wear it in public or you'll look like a terrorist/edgelord.
>>
>>784285
>>784257
I wear this hat without the face mask, but it is honestly useless 90% of the time I wear it because any headwind (either natural or generated from your own motion) blows out the side flaps. A full-on durkha durkha keffiyeh is probably the most practical (and most ridiculous-looking in Western fashion) headwear protection from the sun, Asian rice hat second, and sombrero third.
>>
Big white stetson shaped like that sombrero up there but higher on the sides, live in uk so people think its a joke but its amazing
>>
Where does /out/ cop their bandanas? I've been looking for one, but not the paper thin ones they sell at most places. I'm considering just buying some toweling fabric and trimming it to the right dimensions.
>>
>>784244
Seconding the Buff. I have the merino wool one, used it a lot during the winter. Gonna see how it feels during the summer. If too warm, I'd totally get their UV Buff that's made from a lighter material.
>>
>>784366
What's the difference between this and a boonie? Is the material somehow more comfortable than fabric?
>>
>>784244
Buffs are awesome! I have two in different thicknesses and I use them both pretty often

Seconding this question

Whenever I wear a cap, I look as if I stole it of a 10 year old
>>
>>784668
ID on this sexy beast?
>>
>>785313
That's a russian desert hat I think.
>>
>>784001
Depends on the time of year, in summer I want something with a wide brim to keep the sun off, or I put a bandana under a baseball cap, in the fall I will wear a flat cap or a wool cap, I usually carry a wool cap all year round for nights when the temp drops, I can wear it in bed, in the winter a wear a thinsulate lined wool cap or a ushanka, I will also have a buff or neck tube too, a shemagh is a pretty useful thing to have also.
>>
>>784478
Asian rice hat works great in that regard, but the second you move faster than a walk or get some wind, it becomes a parasail
