It's long. It's well-traveled. You probably won't die if you aren't retarded.
A.T. is the most a casual hiker can hope to accomplish. You can tap out every 20 miles, hell you could pack nothing but Reese's cups because of this. It is standard level difficulty all around. You will not be challenged until you do the P.C.T. which will require more gear and more training and more money and more time.
