Hippie communes, have anyone ever lived in one? How is life there like?

2. Fine as long as you don't rock the boat by having any ideas of your own, you have to be part of the "group" or pretty soon you will find yourself out, hippies might preach love and understanding but they're still people at heart and they can get salty real quick when shit doesn't go their way.
If you can put up with the BS that comes from submerging yourself into a group it's actually pretty nice, but watch out for cults.
Go read up on them. And not just the hype, but people's experiences of the realities.
It usually ends up being shit because people think they can just come in and freeload off others, and that's not how communes work AT ALL. A lot of resentment usually sets in very quickly, followed by ground rules that start the process of it turning into something other than a commune.
Dont do it. Causey hippies are the fucking worst kind of people to be in a squat in the woods with. Call it a commune but thats what it is, a bum squat. Like the other anon said its fit in or get the fuck out and if you take a lady be prepared to be expected to share freely. Some of the most pretentious people ive ever met in my life have been communists. I would suggest snowbirding at slab city. Closest thing to a good commune in the states.

We used to get posters from there. Long story short: look for one that force you to work a minimum of hours a day if you don't want to work full time to provide for everyone. Except a lot of hard work and a very Spartan lifestyle. The only reason to ever go there is to hate "the system" enough to endure poor living conditions just to get out of it.
It's full of wild hippies girls but you should not come with a women you don't 100% trust.

Yes. Reds call themselves communists because they want to steal the notoriety of the French Commune - a Parisian armed insurrection- but they don't make any communes. Look for permaculture or autarcie/self-sufficiency if you want to find this kind of community.
