Hey /out/, can anybody tell me what this stuff is that's growing in my tree? Or if it's a worm of some sort?

Where do you live, OP? If you are in the tropics, it might be something like Camillea leprieurii, which is a type of fungus found on rainforest trees. Maybe something similar? Otherwise maybe aerial roots as other anons have said. But I'm no expert.

Looks like sawdust cores from a boring insect. Take a tooth pick and see if you can easily dig out the stuff.

Those are bore hole sawdust mixed with feces from some insect. Hence the easily broken nature of some in that OP photo. They look nothing like the aerial roots I've seen.
