Went camping near Mt. Baldy last night and saw this hispanic family sprinkling Ajax/Comet around their tents(like 5 tents).
Is there some reason for this? I can't imagine it would be good for the environment or animals nearby.
Probably to deter bugs.

Anything with a strong smell is asking for animals to come sniffing around at night. Doesn't matter if it's smells like a bathroom cleaner, a bear might get curious and come see what's up.
