-Wash Kit
-Water purification tablets in the event your platypus breaks
-Standalone fixed blade knife
-Rain gear
-Dry bag for your sleeping bag
-Dry bag with some camp clothing inside (1 set for on the move, 1 dry set for camp)
-Gloves
-Hat
-Sunglasses
-Sunscreen
-Shemagh or some other lightweight scarf type thing (loads of uses)
-Paracord
-Insect repellent depending on where you are

I cant think of anything else but off the top of my head those are things i would consider. Some are essential to me, some are optional I think.

candles are well candles which in itself can come in handy.
any wood soaked in candlewax will burn like fatwod, i have set fires with wet wood and candlewax easily enough.
it doesn't smell strong, keeps forever very cheap not hard to come by.

beats fatwood in all corners. now you can find fatwood if you need to to use as a substitute you won't find any candles in the wood i will give you that. but as a kit piece candle is the way to go.

oh yeah and paraffin has roughly the same btu / weight as kerosene...
woods are a magnitude worse in that regard.
and you really don't want kerosene in your backpack. paraffin is just very user friendly very high energy density fuel.
