Campsite before Deer Creek.
Park regs allow fires in the winter, but must have a fire pan and carry out all ash. With rafts, this is easy. But in kayaks, weight was a big issue. I has this Aluminum fire pan machined and split up btwn the group.
This was the coldest day. Snowed something like 20" at the rim, and was cold enough to snow at the river. Pulled out the rain fly for this one. I bivy'd the entire trip in sand.
Prob one more. On NYE, we ran into a raft group of College kids and three parents. Brought tons of booze and this great tent. Great new years party was had.

Looks like three different UL camp chairs. Alite Monarch Butterfly. Alite Mayfly and maybe a Helinox. My chair, the blue helinox in the back busted after like the 3rd day. I'm abt 220 and sitting in sand wasn't ideal. REI replaced it though. For self-support kayak, having these was great b/c you are sitting upright all day kayaking 30+ miles and better than slouched on the ground. I ended up just using my 25 year old thermarest pillow/seat rest of the time.

5 people in self-support kayaks. Specifically a liquid logic stinger XP. Gear was as minimal as possible. Most of space was for food and booze. Gear included down bag, bivy, half sleeping pad and one set of dry clothes and down booties or trail running shoes for hikes. Used jetboil and backpackers pantry for food. And of course carrying out your shit in a groover. You can see a black kayak that we fit all gear on left of one of those photos!
