For price to performance you can't really beat the Husqvarna hatchet. The head itself has been made by Wetterlings or Hults Bruk before, although I'm not sure whether or not it still is. They change the forges they contract once in a while. In any case, it's Swedish hand forged at a fraction of Gransfor Bruks

Get this faggot shit out of here
Go haunt local antique stores for an old hatchet.
Just sharpen it and it's good to go.
But if you have the time you could refurnish it to get it looking as good as new.
Old tools are awesome.

if you're in Murka the only smart and ethical choices are Estwing or Vaughan.

I love my husqvarna hatchet. Though it's not as pretty as the expensive Swedish hatchets, if that's of any importance. It's also a bit on the heavy side.
I've been taking a serious look at these:

You get a hell of a lot of axe for the money.
has anyone actually worn out a fiskars hatchet/axe?
who cares if the handle isn't wood, as long as it stays sharp

$80 CAD on Amazon.ca. Dang, it sucks being a Canuck.

It's actually 20+. I wrote 30 considering shipping. Just go to flea markets man. Get an old axe head even if it's not forged. Bring it to life and be proud of your work.

Trail Boss was a surprising purchase for me. I can't do a hatchet anymore now that I carry a larger axe. The head isn't any bigger and the extra ten or so inches makes a huge difference when using it.
>inb4 that's what she said.
