lol you don't need a tarp over it, i've slept in hurricanes in maryland in that thing and it only got me a lil damp, dried out in less than an hour in the morning. it'll become really damp inside if you aren't careful with humidity levels, though.

I have a simlar tent made by Hi-tec that I bought for $40. It's small and look light. But there is no room to put gear inside the tent as it has no vestibule.

Amazon is always cheaper, and if your in th states theres the currency rate, ans the fact that the canadian version have alum pols instead of the fibreglass ones that have been known to break on this tent

No room for gear is a con for sure but i have a bag that woild be fine outside in the rain all night, and i dont often camp where i run into other people so theft isnt an issue really
