I am thinking of doing a trip to Yellowstone. I don't have any travel buddy so it would be by myself. Would it be a bad idea to ditch the buddy system and backpack solo? Would bears be something I'd need to worry about (even if I have bear mace)? What about wolves?
My only other real backpacking experience is on the Appalachian Trail, I was alone but there were always other people on the trail so I never went more than a few hours without seeing people. Are there any trails in Yellowstone that would be popular enough (weekdays in June) that I would at least not be completely isolated if anything did happen?
Its safe just remember this simple trick, an open jar of peanut butter in the top part of your pack works as mosquito AND bear repellant

don't forget to wear your dinner bells
I found this thread and coincidentally I had a tab opened with this article. Stay safe if you go through with this OP

make suicide vest out of pepper sprays
if bear attacks with tiny bits of explosives you rip all the cans open. bear is in a dense cloud of hellish sting. smell and taste is ruined. can't see shit. i don't think he will continue.

Damn. I'll have bear spray with me when I'm hiking though so hopefully I'll be okay.
I'm a little worried about just in general if I get injured or anything happens, being alone in the wilderness. Does anybody know of any good 3-5 day backpacking trails in Yellowstone that would likely have other hikers on them in June? Just so if anything does happen somebody will probably come by at some point.

Rent a sat phone so you can call for rescue if anything happens.

Sat phones are a bear delicacy dummy

well go when the grizzlies are fat and lazy not when they are hungry as nine hells and you will be fine.

It's safe enough. Hang your food, make noise, avoid dense brush, cook away from where you camp, and don't be a retard. Wolves aren't a threat at all.
