August 21, 2017 the path of totality of a solar eclipse will pass over the US. Starting in Oregon on the Pacific coast and sweeping across the country to the Atlantic coast in South Carolina.

Nebraska sounds like it would be cool, just seeing the darkness overtake the endless corn fields. Tough part would be finding a decent vantage point with a bit of elevation.
fyi hotels in places even like Wyoming are getting booked this early. I know this is /out/ but still important to mention.
I'm in Socal, I cant imagine I'll be bothered to go so far north to view it.

anyone know of good camping along the trail in Wyoming? I'd love to make it up there, I've never been camping out of state and I think this would be one hell of a way to start that journey.
I'm from Washington, Oregon is close but its too iffy on the weather. My cousins have a place in Kethcum Idaho. Should be easy to dash up near Stanley on that date
