Is it possible for a poorfag to join expeditions and the like?
Let's say too much reading and shit has been a huge influence.

Is there a way I could join a research expedition or something?

Or possibly work with one and get paid some?

>research expedition
To where? Mars?
Do you mean doing field work?
Geology, biology, archaeology etc?
>>

Yea, field work or whatever.
Join along as a pair of hands even though I'm not educated in that stuff.
>>
>>758176
>not educated in that stuff
Then why would they want you along?

Extra hands for menial labor.
>>
Bringing people along is expensive
The work that is done usually needs good knowledge of the subject and substantial training of the methods
There is usually a long queue of students, who want to have a chance to prove themselves
Everyone not bringing knowledge and skill is practically dead weight and more time consuming than helpful
Only chance I see is to be friends with someone in a key position of the expedition and pay for travelling cost, equipment, accommodating, food and everything else yourself

In short:
>no $$$
>no skills
>no knowledge
>not in the university

forget it

I'm capable of things, and some what knowledgeable.
Shit thing is I'm not in a science field at my university.
>>
>>758466
well, it's usually subject specific skills and knowledge
>theory
>sample collection
>operating equipment
>data collection
>identifying plants, animals, objects
>categorizing and analysing data

What kind of expedition would you like to participate in?
What kind of skills and knowledge do you have that could be beneficial to an expedition team?
Archaeologists sometimes accept volunteer. You will most likely be carrying buckets of dirt around.
Maybe a team needs someone organizing the food for them...

I see what you mean, I don't have a lot of ability like that.
Hell even carrying dirty or food would be good enough with me if I got to tag along.
