looking for some good /out/ movies
I found the first 30 minutes of the survivalist pretty cosy and it's an alright /out/ movie.
Revenant is good as well.
I'm pretty sure Predator counts as well.
anything by werner herzog is usually preddy gud
>>753683
What is Revenant even about, it got 0 marketing here in the UK
I'm currently working through Alone In The Wilderness. This is inspiring stuff.
>>753687
Not really a movie. That's a doc.
>>753691
leo gets mauled/raped by a bear and his kid gets killed and he gets abandoned by the man who was supposed to protect him and he has to survive, extremely wounded, with little gear, and travel across miles of wilderness to get revenge.
It could be better but it's quite an enjoyable movie, nice shots of nature.
>>753691
Leonardo De Caprisun gets raped by a bear and spends about 70% of the movie dribbling and going "HNGGGGGGGGGHHHHNGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG".
A few flashbacks later and he gets revenge on Tom Hardy.
The End.

>>754363
>my entire childhood was raised on this movie and being /out/
True story of a newbie who hikes the PCT.
GOOD FUCKING MOVIE
127 Hours (2010)
>>756275
+1
>>756632
hiking the PCT is just a premise to make it seem like an adventure movie. it's not an adventure movie, and it's not about the PCT or hiking or the outdoors AT ALL
it's actually a really shitty chick-flick which shows none of the reality of the PCT or hiking at all and instead just focuses on making males look like absolute scum while the main character is a powerful women who (oops, she actually got her brains fucked out by a bunch of people on heroin, repeatedly, while married to a really nice guy)
The last trapper its on youtube its great
>>753679
Valhalla Rising
Dark, cold, spooky, surviving in a wasteland = guud movie
The Road From Karakol
it's kind of a mix for /n/ /out/ and /trv/, but a really great watch, kinda short so even if you don't like it you sure didn't waste much time.
Still it's really neat.
>>757498
this. That's why women love this one more than usual while men are more meh about it
>>756515
Yep
>>756632
i didnt like that reesefu was a junkie whore but the /out/doors parts were bretty watchable, what with her female incompetence and all.
>>759356
Would honestly recommend reading the book.
Did a report on it. Loved it.
>>753679

>>764459
ah dersu. had forgotten about this one. top tier out movie now that I think about it.
>>756271
Yes.
"You're a Big Bear"
"Roarr rar"
>>753683
The Revenant is a bullshit movie. Dude swimmig in ice rivers without any problems, while being deadly wounded, invented characters which appear out of nowwhere to add dialogs which are more than cringy. Dont watch it, its only good for the /out/ pictures which you can also enjoy in NG documentieries, that dont feature all the crap from the Revenant. Also prepare for heavy moaning all the fucking time
>>756515
Near the end yes, but if you look past the fact that he got himself killed foolishly, the rest of the movie is pretty damn aesthetic.
>Rough childhood and abusive parents
>leaves everything behind after college
>meets cool people
>enjoys life
>finally realizes he's ready to not be alone, ready to return to his sister/friends
Really the only bad part about the movie is the fact that he got himself killed.
>>756632
This is also a good movie, the protagonist is kind of hard to like (junkie, cheats on a loving husband, etc) but apart from that it's a pretty beautiful movie.
>>762382
These are all excellent movies
>Cast Away
>Losing Wilson scene
It's not even the part where he loses wilson, it's the part right after when he's just sobbing on his raft that gets me. Fucking hell those feels.
>>766109
This anon is an idiot.
It was a good movie and yeah, there were a few scenes where reality may have been streched. So what. Personally I didn't like the bear scene. It would not have gone down like that.
The icy river made perfect sense as it would stop the bleeding and slow the heart enough to survive.
Know your skills beore you knock them.
>>766516
> inb4 hypovolemic shock/ischemic cardiac event.
>>765802
Second,bretty good
>>766106
underrated +1 reddit upvote
>>766516
Idk, I liked the bear scene...man Leo taking all that bear cock...
I'd say they both count enough. Mud and Legends of the Fall. Second is a damn depressing movie, but it very aesthetically pleasing.
>>766109
Define Revenant: a person who has returned, especially supposedly from the dead.
It's called suspension of disbelief and symbolism. Stick to documentaries which show "REAL" stuff.
Great fucking movie.
>>753683
Saw the survivalist last night. Good but meh.
>>767892
>Good but meh.
What did he mean by this?
>>764459
Excellent, I was scrolling down and was disappointed no one had pasted this.
>>767892
>Good but meh.
Please, tell us of your ambivalence.
Saw this last night. Old guy and a city kid go on the lam in the bush - not a lot of /out/ focus but lots of nice NZ landscape.
>>766832
>>765802
Man FUCK that movie! I expected it to be like Wild, where there are beautiful shots of nature and it's actually about hiking, buz nooooo it was just two GoOoOoOfy characters fucking about. Maybe it's because the AT isn't as spectacular as the PCT (imo) but i was so fucking dissapointed..
>>768781
>Hating Redford and Nolte
Wew lad
>>756275
Just saw it, very good and fun to watch.
>>753700
This is a great goddamn movie
>>760690
Almost forgot about this movie. Was good.
It's crazy to think about how he was able to forge a knife in the time that he was being pursued. Fucking madman.
>>764412
I have some [ENG].srt's for you. What media player you using? Should work regardless.
>>756632
Shitty movie that makes you hate females for being incompetent shits.
>>766109
>>766516
Nah anon is right. The Revenant is actually a shit movie. Though some scenes (like the bear attack) are worthwhile the movie in general has a terrible boring plot. The dissapointment only gets reinforced by the cheesy as hell stand off at the end.
>>753687
He has one about the people of the taiga and that's pretty neat.
>>766106
Big Bear, he's iron tough
>>764446
love this movie, it's also really comfy sometimes.
>>770414
The soundtrack is amazing (not considering the one in the car scene at the begining). Also the photography, there are scenes that remind me of dutch still life paintings. Not going to spoil it tho.
Classic.
>>769072
>Shitty movie that makes you hate females for being incompetent shits.
Why would you hate all women because of just one. What the actual fuck is wrong with you anon. If you are cold one night while /out/ it doesn't means you'll always be cold there. What's with basic logics? What's with that r9k reasoning? Come on bro, you are better than this.
Didn't get the best ratings, but I'd consider it in my top 5 movies of all time. Love it
>>764459
I'm watching Dersu Uzala tonight. It's a slow burner right? I'm looking forward to getting comfy and just taking it all in
