/mu/ and /out/ are pretty much what I am, but I really don't listen to music while i'm out.

when i'm on the mountainbike i feel blind with headphones in, it's really dangerous to jam your sonar like that. with camping or hiking it's sorta the same thing, i gotta be able to hear what's going on around me - pic related.

i suppose i could bring an ipod dock noisemaker out so at least i don't have headphones in my hearholes, but that's bulky shit to carry

idunno, indoors, in the car, and on public transport it's music all the time but innawoods i just can't do it

I don't get people who do. I feel like they are trading an immersive experience for some tinny, pre-recorded entertainment. It's also inconsiderate and unsafe
>>
>>753676
I listen to Manowar and Overkill mostly while motorcycling around.
>>
Overtone/polyphonic stuff puts me in the /out/ mood. Most types have roots in prehistory and nomadic peoples.

Unironic, don't mind the video. But this song reminds me of my childhood camping with muh family. It was part of a playlist cassette my parents had. I was literally happy back then.

I'm a musician, so the last thing I want to hear when I'm outdoors is music.

There is some music I listen to when I'm taking rural scenic drives though.

Fleetwood Mac and U2 when I'm driving through the socal deserts on my way to Yosemite. My parents always used to play it when they drove me as a kid and it's pretty much tradition that I listen to it now

I don't listen to music on the trail but when there's down time or when I'm going to bed I'll put on some ambient electronic, IDM, drone, something minimalistic. Sleepresearchfacility, Tim Hecker, William Basinski, Brain Eno, Stars of the Lid, C418, Aphex Twin, Biosphere, maybe some of the World of Warcraft OST or Chopin if I get tired of everything else

One day we will disappear to a pub not far from here.
>>
>>760422
Far for me, probably, don't believe pubs are common in the States. Yet it'll be worth it, nonetheless.
>>
>>753676
I bring along a small crank radio for news and weather reports while I'm out. Sometimes I'll listen to classical if I know things (like the weather) are about to get bad, helps to calm my nerves.
>>
>>760452
I live in the states and there are about 5 pubs within a mile from me.

I know this is not a board for metal heads, but there is some great black metal themed for the outdoors.

Pic is oath bound, by summoning, a lord of the rings themed metal band. It is great for getting absorbed in the wilderness.
