about 30mins from my house... mostly paved, so it's not a real exciting ride. Good ride for engine break-in miles though.
About an hour by moto, plus another 45min hike.

Motor's on the bench now, got most of the chassis stuff that needs replacing on a list. Going to grab some dinner now, then rip the motor apart tonight.
Rear shock rebuild, fork seals, new piston, cylinder replate, new plastics (w/ custom graphics, >tfw sponsors), bunch of other odds-n-ends/wear-items.
Past few weeks before I tore it down, I had a weird pulsing noise from the engine... no idea what it's coming from, but I should have the answer tonight.

Yeah the best way to figure it out is to get in there yourself.
I've been looking at getting a little dual sport, or just a dirt bike.
I know it's cancer, but I've really been looking at a honda grom as a starter, cheap and easy to handle.
