okay /out/ its my first time backpacking gonna try a short trail in Hoosier National Forest with an anon from school. I've done some less adventurous car camping on a camp site and plenty of day hikes but no backpacking. Any tips or essential gear I should take besides the basic shit?

The boys and I stayed out there last weekend. Wear good boots cause the trails are wet. Bring some dry tinder cause the forest floor is damp. We used babybel wax. Turkey season has started, get a blaze orange hat
