Someone on /adv/ said this was the place to post this.

So I bought a mushroom grow kit (Golden Teacher) and I think I might have done something really stupid.

It said to put them in the fridge, but as english is not my native language I mistook fridge for freezer (doh). Have I destroyed them now? I have been trying to grow them for about 6-7 days now and still no sign of anything.

Should I wait a bit longer and see what happens, or is this pretty much a lost cause?

I read somewhere that the first pinheads should appear after 5-20 days so I know it could still happen, but how long should I keep this up until I give up and try with another kit?

Consensus here, is that dry spores may survive a freeze, but wet mycelium will almost certainly die. Prognosis doesn't look good.

From my experiences with wild mushies,, they die off with the frosts. So doesn't look good IMO considering a freezer is usually at least -15c

Yeah, freezer = really bad
