They cost $160 dollarydoos, for that price I'm assuming those sandals are pretty watertight
>>
>>742064
I fucking hate these things. My wife is obsessed with them. She bought me a pair and I made the mistake of actually wearing them.

Once a rock goes in, it doesn't come out.

>$159.99

Holy shit, who buys stuff like that?

All the hippy wooks around here love this style of sandal. What's worse is that they pair them with fucking socks. Keens are ugly as shit anyways and I hate their little trademark triangle ! logo.
>>
>>742160
I'd pay $30 for them as a pair of shoes to wear in camp to let my feet air out.

I don't think most places here haggle like that though.
>>
>>742064
They are not bad as a camp shoe.
And they keep your boots water free when you use them for water crossings
>>
>>742157
fucking this man, I use them as my boat shoes but they fucking suck to hike in, just the memory of having a pebble in there makes me mad as fuck jesus christ I hate these god damn things
>>
>>742064
I have a pair of Simms in this style. Best shoe for kayak fishing and wet wading rivers.
>>
>>742064
Considering they still use leather, not very water proof at all.
>>
>>742064
Where the fuck are they charging $159 for them?

Here in Canada Keen Newports are $99. I use them for cycling, fording rivers, rainy days, and sometimes hiking...
>>
>>742286
Australia.

Everything costs more in Australia.
>>
>>742605
It does my head in. Good boots are the worst, just when i think i have found something cheap overseas
> $50 postage
>>
>>742624
Don't forget the conversion rate now adding another 30% onto the price.

$100 item ends up costing you almost $200 after shipping and conversion.
>>
>>742064
Are you really that dumb? I sell so many over the summer. top tier sandals.
>>
I use them for summer fly fishing. considering how hard I am on them , they did ok
>>
>>742286

REI I bet. I don't think they're allowed by law to sell anything int the store cheaper than 159.99. We voted on it at this year's member meeting.
>>
>>743222
I'm just saying, if it has giant holes in it, waterproof materials are kinda ridiculous, even more so to announce that the materials are waterproof.
>>
>>743477
REI sells them at MSRP, $100.
>>
>>743612
The point is that the materials will not be degraded by prolonged exposure to water, because they are designed for boating/rafting.
>>
>>743612
You can fix that with Flexi-seal spray
>>
I needed a pair of sandals for my river job this summer and I ended up getting a pair of these Keen paracord jobs.

Not gonna lie, they're very stupid looking but they're comfy as fuck.
>>
>>742064
I have a pair of H2s and love them for summer hiking/camping. I didn't pay full price for them of course.
>>

-Paracord Keen sandals-

Very meme worthy. Kek

Where the hell can I get a pair of these on sale?
Fucking REI never has a worthwhile discount on anything Keen

Take a minute and think this through and reply please

It makes it lighter by not getting wet. Its just like why you put DWR on a rain jacket.

get a pair of crocs, or even better, a pair of chinese crocs copies.
>>

That's why I like the classic Tevas or Chacos with no padding to soak up the water. Better on the beach too, my Keens fill up with pebbles.

The Keen website says all their sandals are machine washable.

Tevas are the way to go
>>
>>747081
Wash them with mild dish soap and leave them out in the sun to dry.
>>
>>747648
Tried machine washing some vibrum 5 fingers along with my clothes once.

Never again.

Shoes still stunk afterwards.
>>
>>747867
Teva also has some pretty shitty models now though (especially from a river sandal context) so you gotta be careful. I loved my OG '90s Tevas until they disintegrated, but I was about to give up on the brand until they brought back some of the older better designs.

As a general rule look for a plastic/rubber footbed and plain webbing straps with the least amount of spongy padding on either if you're going innariver or innalake. That stuff can stay wet for days.

>>747961
What happened? They say gentle cycle and air dry but it sounds like it messed up your clothes instead.

hmm I wonder if brewing sanitizer works on shoes...

Just cop some Rossi's or Redbacks or something senpai. Pretty good value and made in Australia

Ugly as fuck.

My momma (no joke, I am 37, was very arkward)got me a pair for sailing in the caribean.

Have to admit best sandals for that purpose.

crew was laughing 3 weeks and made jokes about me and momma.

Wife still makes jokes about it.

Would never ever wear them in public.
>>
>>751971
>Wife still makes jokes about it.
Your wife cucked you over a pair of shoes?
What does her mixed race son think of them?
>>
>>742064
I hated these shoes. They are heavy as hell. The fabric gets waterlogged as fuck, and dries REALLY slowly. I ended up putting them close to the fire so they would have a chance of drying out, and they melted a bit. And wearing them when they are wet rubs your skin raw underneath the goddamn wet fucking rubber/fabric/whatever the fuck they're made out of.

Bought a pair of Teva's and haven't looked back. although teva's are heavy as well compared to crocs.
>>
>>751983
He never had shoes, so he is quite impressed.
>>
If not these, what's the best alternative for paddling or swimming (jagged rocks hurt).
>>
>>742064
They're pretty comfy with wool socks in dry weather, but for real waterproofing I'd probably wear Hi-Tec Altitudes.

Which models? It looks like they have No toe protection?
>>
>>754940
The models without a lot of padding on the straps or the footbed to soak up water (like Teva Originals or Hurricanes). If you want toe protection Keens are OK in the water, they just take a long time to dry. Or get water shoes
