A thread for serious mountains, and the serious mountaineers who climb them. Seriously.
A serious mountain requires serious wildlife.

/out/ Only cares about buying things and not actually goes /out/. A dude made a fucking kelp forest and the thread has less replies than a sock thread.

How serious are we talking?
I've done Ben Nevis North Face about five times? Once even twice in a day. I mean it was a sucky time and we started and finished in the dark but eh
Pic is me on the Aonach Eagch Ridge this winter. Fuck I miss snow.

Serious question for this serious thread. How hard could it be to train a goat so it can carry my stuff?
>>741106
It's not big by US standards, but it's cheaper to get to than Denali or Mont Blanc...
Mailing off my mazamas climb app for Mt.Hood tomorrow
I'm just getting into it. Done a couple of 3rd/4th class climbs now and some non technical winter stuff in the Whites. I really feel like I'm starting to get a lot of knowledge about different conditions and terrain. Hopefully I'll do a big peak this year.

We climbed from the right over the rocky ridge and then up to the outcrop to bivy for the night.

Looking down the Wintun glacier from above the bivy.

Looking towards the summit.
>>741965
Looking to the west from near the summit.

I enjoyed the kelp forest thread but had nothing useful to post on it.
>>742327
Yeah, that's a serious route. Not as much as Arachnaphobia, but still serious.
New Zealand as fuck in here
>>741408
Wow, never realized how small it was. Over here, that would be a really minor peak, small enough to still be unnamed in more remote areas.
Come to BC, we're the same size as Germany and France combined, and nothing but mountains.
Athabasca A2 summit, multiple routes possible, some more serious than others.
Korea and Japan don't really have any serious mountains =(. I have hiked all the big ones in both countries.
>>744874
Except for the plateau by Prince George. That's not too serious.
I've only ever climbed Mt. Katahdin, help me get into serious mountaineering please family.
Black tusk is not so hard, but the finish is 5.9
