Well, congratulations! You got yourself a cot! Now what's the next step in your master plan?

Combine it with a tent
>>729736
this looks heavy and not compact and only good for low budget car camping
>>729737
And that's not the case for the one OP posted...?
>>729732
Sell it to buy a good sleeping bag.

Get a new cot that wasn’t designed when Abe Lincoln was in the White House.

Constructive.
>>729732
Put it in a hiker box and be on my way
>>729732
When not tent camping out of a backpack and not pushed for weight I use a pic related thermarest cot.
Cash for a comfortable sleep, second only to a hammock for me.
I carry a cot when I drag a sled during week long hunting trips in the Winter. Couldn't imagine carrying one backpacking though.
>>729732
Get a tent that'll actually fucking fit it.
So, now my fancy folding camp bed is indoors only because it doesn't fit in the cheapass tent I bought.
But fuck it. If I'm sleeping in a tent anyway, that means I've got to haul stuff further than the 20 feet to get stuff into a house from my car. So fuck that heavy bed anyway.
Aluminium is light, but it's still a lot of it. Military kit tends to be weighty and bulky, probably because they just throw it on a truck.
Tent's only for festivals anyway.

Goin to Alaska this summer to work as a driver/mechanic for a river guide company. Gonna get a big family tent to live in and wanting to get a queen sized airbed up off the floor, would it be better to pay the money for a double cot or just get two singles and push them together?

All I want is pic related. Used to cost like $10 around my area but now costs hundreds.

India. The ones that cost more are made of aluminium and such though. You can get a bamboo/wooden cot for around $20 if you weave the net yourself in rural areas even today.
Pre weaved costs $10 extra. Pic related is pre weaved.
>>736178
Pic related is the expensive aluminium one I mentioned
>>736181
Pic related is a hand weaved one>>736181
>>736184
Pic related is a more modern one which uses nylon straps instead of traditional jute string/rope.
>>736186
The still cheap rural ones I mentioned use coir(coconut string) like in my first post.
>>736178
Neat, I learned something.
>>736212
Sorry, it seems I miscalculated, a pre woven wooden bed only costs $9 USD(600inr).
And you are welcome.

Is there an external frame backpack that transform into a cot?

correct me if im wrong, but the webbing keeps tension on the wooden rails so that the whole thing doesnt just fall apart right?
I remember seeing a bed like this in an exhibit about pioneers traveling across america in the 19th century. IIRC they could tighten the webbing at night to sleep on it and then fold it all down to fit into the wagon in the morning. This is a hazy memory from being 10 on a family vacation but i always wanted a bed like that for some reason.
>>743897
This is different desu. The frame is made of interlocking wooden pieces. Its solid on its own. The weave has no structural purpose. And the bed cannot be taken apart as you please. What you are thinking of is either a dort of hammock or a semi hammock but I don't think that the weave has any structural purpose even in those.
I really don't know about the pioneers though.
I do know of a woven Ben that does rely on the weave but its a semi hammock where you take two pipes and use two close tree stumps and tighten the rope around the middle so that the weight on the rope pulls the pipes together and keeps the whole thing up.
