Context? Any part or patent numbers? You're sure it's a tool?
>>
Do the holes go all the way through? It could be a jig for drilling the same set of holes in two pieces of wood. Then you could attach them together with dowels.
>>
Looks like a Simplex model X-20 fingerbox, I think my grandfather has one somewhere in his attic
>>
>>727655

Easy. It's a wing-wong for a goose's bridle.
>>
>>727668
It doesn't look like the holes are big enough for it to be a fingerbox. Or is that why they don't make the X-20s anymore?

Mine's just a pine fingerbox that my great grandfather made in wood shop when he was school. I should dig that out of the attic...

Why don't more people actually use their fingerboxes?
>>
>>727792
>holes aren't big enough
>don't make the X-20s anymore
It's like theater seats. The one's from the 1920's are smaller because people were smaller then.
>>
>>727655
What's inside? The top part is clearly a hinged lid of some kind.
>>
>>727655
Simplex makes heavy lift jacks and the like. That might be a component from one of their kits.
>>
>>727655
More pictures from different angles? We see it has at least two parts, one with tree holes and another pivoted part with text SIMPLEX in it.

It could be a bicycle tool, Simplex is a brand although I've never seen that logo. It looks from the picture that two holes have similar shape than the center one, but on the other side. The center hole makes me think this is a tool and not a part. If it's a part, it seems like a silly design.

If it is a tool it has to do something. We need to see the insides. My guess is, its purpose is to help with putting something together. Anyway, all what counts is inside that thing.

Its a fucking stamp

If your an Aussie, Simplex is a maker of reloading equipment in Australia. May be part of their kit.
