I presented this idea as a joke, and now my fiancee really wants to do it for our honeymoon. There are several companies through which you can rent a private deserted island in the Pacific for as long as you want. The luxury options include a bungalow and private guide; the bare-bones option gives you a compost toilet and a fishing spear, and nothing else. That's the one we'll do.
I'm just a little concerned that the sun, hunger, cabin fever, and mosquitoes will get to us and make us hate each other. Even the endless sex would be ruined by sand.
What do you think is the maximum amount of time our relationship could survive the strain? We've both spent a week alone together innawoods before, and I'm good at bushcraft. but I'm pessimistic.
What do you guys think, go for the bungalow option?

I think go with something a little more amenable. Not that it wouldn't be fun to survive the fuck out of a desert island, but a honeymoon is supposed to be about enjoying each other's company, not trying to find a way to stay alive. However, it might be a good test of the strength of your bond, so there's that. So I really am not going to be of any help here.

I have always thought it would be fun to go to an island for a while like a settler.

-A hammock

-Large pot
-10 plastic painters cloths (for catching water)
-3-6 months of food in buckets

It's not my place to judge, but your entire post kinda gives room to ask if you're sure marrying this girl is the right move. Past that, I would say absolutely no more than a week. Speaking from experience, being completely isolated from the world with one other person for that long is a surefire way to have a problem, and we had more that a sharp stick to entertain ourselves with.

I got married young too, only got into going /out/ later as a quarter life crisis thing having been a city kid for my whole life.
One thing is make sure she's not doing it for you, make sure she's just as into the idea as you are and hasn't just been swung by your enthusiasm because a honeymoon should be mutually enjoyable.
