anyone here from Orange, San Bernardino, Santa Barbara or LA counties?
I'm looking for suggestions on a long distance trail in the Angeles, SB and Los Padres national forests. Has anyone paid a vist to the condor trail?
Im looking to had off for 3-4 days. thanks guys
Condor trail? You mean that one that's not even complete yet, with miles of bushwhacking?
There's the Silver Moccasin trail in the San Gabs, it's part of the PCT. Also the Backbone Trail in the Santa Monica mountains (not to be confused with Devil's backbone on Baldy or North Backbone).
Mt. Baldy loop, 3 Ts, and Cucamonga peak are all fantastic day hikes. San G will take about 8-10 hours. San Jacinto is also a great day hike. If you're feeling up to you, do the 3 peaks challenge, Mt. Baldy, San G, and San Jacinto in one day.

I went to the Arcadia district office to ask about this one, but the volunteer there claimed to not know anything about it, denied its existence, and was generally super not-helpful
where did you start, Chantry flats? did you end at Vincent Gap near wrightwood?
whats the water situation?
>Backbone Trail

I haven't done either trail. Was going to do SM but got knocked out by weather, but yeah the plan was Chantry to VIncent Gap in 2 nights, 3 days. Might be more helpful to post on http://sangabrielmnts.myfreeforum.org/index.php. With Backbone all I know is that water is a bitch (nonexistent). You might have to place caches beforehand, or have someone bring you water.

Dude, how the fuck could you hike the three saints in one day? Are you talking about starting at midnight? Driving alone is at least like 4 hours to get between the three, if not longer. Would you take the tram up to 8,000 for Jacinto? I just don't understand.
I'm hoping to do the cactus to clouds Jacinto trail this year.
I live in OC but I don't have any recs, sorry OP.
