A stick. Organic and locally sourced.
I'm not digging any trenches, though. At most, I need the occasional cat-hole or to turn up a little soil to find baitworms. Adding an extra couple pounds to my gear just to make those simple tasks easier wouldn't be a great investment of my carry capacity.

Whatever you get, make sure it's a fixed handle and the edges are sharpened.

What do you use these for?
Car camping?
Glock!
Got mine for years, never failed me, small, light weight, simple.
Never ever try to use the saw :D

Does the same job and weighs a lot less

You are disgusting. You need to pack that out.

you do realize shit is organic and will decompose?
>>716614
Not an argument.
>>716753
At some elevations, and on big wall climbs, you should pack it out

It's a poop tube. You poop in it

please explain further

So a 5 inch poop is the goal. You call it progress, I call it continuum.

>Not measuring your poop length and girth
These shovels are calibrated as well >>716571
Not just to see how deep you dig, but to measure your poop
>>716769
but we're not going to the mountains we're sleeping in our backyard we don't need to carry our crap in our backpacks back home
Space poop tube
Yellow poop tube

I regularly drop 12 inchers

Gerber. Never had a problem. Dug up ground that a pick bounced off of.
Use socks, clearly
>>716571
If all I'm doing is digging catholes then I carry this.
>>716769
So, do you carry packets of ABS primer/cement in order to seal that tube when it's full? or how does the top work? It looks like painted ABS to me with an open end...

That's racist
I bought a Coughlin's brand folding shovel for only 15 bucks and it's sturdy as fuck.
No included saw like your pic, which seems cool, but for 15 bucks coughlin makes a nice solid product.
