Other than that nothing. Most of them are junk, the prattle or they're shills. Youtube has turned most of them in to liars who try to sell you junk.

I watch JoeRobinetBushcraft a lot. He was one of the contestants on that Alone TV show and quit after 4 days, but he makes cool videos of just fucking around in the woods.

I also watched Outdoor Adventures to get a sense of what multiday hiking trips would be like.

Vastly more informative version of Wranglerstar, less the religious lunacy and autism. Also isn't clumsily trying to sell you stuff.

Breaking new youtube ground, apetor lets the video do all the talking and doesn't spend 15 minutes mumbling into the camera about minutae.

>>

What inspired you to do this? clearly it's a niche market and barely anyone would want to hear these. Perhaps to relax this is really really good ambient noise. I feel like it would be nicer if you released 30 minute plus recordings, i know a lot of people watch "jungle noise" videos but they are nowhere near as high quality as yours. Are these stacked tracks?
>>
>>711631
good grief. thank you. >>711629 is for >>711627 of course
>>
>>711635
Well, I'm an audio engineer and I really love sound, and I really love the way sound interacts with our brains. You know how a smell can instantly rush a memory back? And it's not just a memory - it's every detailed feeling and mood and thought you had the time. Photos and videos are great, but they don't do what a smell can do. And capturing the sound of a place is more like capturing a smell than it's like capturing images. Not only does the location come back with a tactile clarity, but it's even better than being there. Hearing everything without any other distractions reveals so much more than was evident at first. A busy city street is such a great example of that. But anyway, I really love capturing sound - and it's not easy. I challenge myself a lot to get great recordings. From building my Jecklin disk and finding the right components, to huffing around in the dark getting my feet soaked and tick-bitten in swamps to finding just the right location, and microphone choice. It's the fucking best!

Yeah I should upload the longer versions - most of my recordings are over 20mins long but I tend to be economical when uploading. On youtube they're kinda just there for entertainment and to share with friends and, occasionally, nature enthusiasts.

NONE of my tracks are stacked or layered or manipulated. They're all honest records - all I do is normalise for good digital levels, and when I use omni mics I do a HPF to cut down on unnecessary rumble. But that's it otherwise.

I thought some were stacked because on one of your videos you hear a drop of water in an open area. Quite nice to capture little details like that. I don't think my hearing is remotely as good as what your microphones bring, the truly capture every angle. I'm a photographer myself and you seem to think like a photographer yet with a whole other sense. We seek the light and how it interacts with our subject while you seek ambiance and how sound interacts with it's surroundings. Pretty cool work, it's too bad you can't share smells or touch through the internet but capturing sound is pretty damn unique.

For some reason, trappers tend to have good youtube channels. Probably because of loneliness. TheWildNorth, TrappingWorld, and Deerriveradventures are all interesting trapping channels. Truthfully I dislike just about all /out/ based youtube channels. They're either overly Sperglord, neckbeard, can't talk, or have no idea what they're talking about and pretend like they do. The latter also spawns several other sperglords that base what they say on and feature other people's BS like it was their idea. They also feel a need to tell you who they are before and after they do their ignorant shit in a video and then prattle on about nothing for a solid 2-25 minutes losing you in process and almost completely skipping the real point on why the video even exist. Not say that wouldn't be fine if they did that way because for every 1 bad video there's 30 even worse ones. That annoys me to no end.

I like David Pearson. He is a low budget kind of guy and shows his mistakes. He is fairly autistic--he made a 'shove-axe' from scratch to dig in heavily rooted areas--but that only adds to his appeal. he's made abunch of vidoes about a bunch of different kinds of shelters. A few of them can be put up in a day, but the ballar cave man pimp house where he made BAKED CLAY SHINGLES took him half a year, but half of that was because of the rain interrupting the work. If he had multiple people and or was willing to make multiple furnaces, it could have been done a lot faster.

>>

It absolutely would. Any bacteria or parasites would have a field day in your intestines and you'd end up shitting out half your bodyweight before the sun went down.

There is absolutely no reason why squirting it up your arse would be less of a risk than drinking it. Having an enema would not protect you from anything nasty in the water. The only benefit is that it's a way of getting it into your body if you can't drink it normally eg due to mouth injury or constant vomiting. You also wouldn't have to taste the water that way.

I can guarantee you that the water that Pissdrinker put up his arse came from an evian bottle with a few drops of food dye in it.

I've never heard of anybody else using a skateboard wheel in fire starting, so it definitively is a first of it's kind.

Awesome. I found your train recording and it was great.
I've always found horns in the distance to be pretty chill.
By far my favorite is the thunder clips. I love thunder. Your rainy soundtracks remind me of those chill threads. Not sure if /b/ (I think) still does them.
Keep up the good work. It's unique in the fact that it's pure, unadulterated sound. Definitely make that known to the listeners, I think it's important in this fake world.
It's getting late, apologies if I'm rambling and incoherent.

Where do you live if don't mind me asking? Not specifically but a larger general area.

Nice man, it means a lot that you "get" what I do. And I guess I def should add some more info, especially about the recordings being unedited or altered. I put a lot more effort into the recordings than it would seem, so I really try to keep it as quality and pure as possible. I live in Massachusetts.

The train recordings I've done were just with the handheld recorder, I haven't gotten one yet with my good mics and rig - but I hope to! The power and realism you get with good omni mics is a whole higher tier than you get with just the conveneint cardioid mics... even though it's so much easier to record with them. If you check out the "distand thunder" recording there's some bizzare horn in the distance and I don't know what it is. It reminds me of a sound effect from a movie trailer or something.

It happens right at the beginning, at about 0:07

So you're a masshole lol. Connecticunt here.

I don't know what that sound is. Actually kind of spoopy. Where was it recorded? That might shed some light on what it is.

Yeah Masshole born and bred! I live in southern central MA, so breddy close to CT actually. I'm guessing it was a tractor trailer blasting its horn on the mass pike or something, way off in the distance. I guess anyway.

Used to live near 495 and I can't sleep if it's quiet. Grew up with the clanging of factory machines and the roar of semi's.

>nobody knows anything you can't find on google you mong.

Ah yes the entirety of human knowledge now exists on the internet and the isn't a single piece of knowledge that has ever or will ever exist that won't pop up on google. Guess we better just call it quits now guys, it's all been done.

glib, off point, and completely out of context

I disagree, seeing as there are a great any things pertaining to the lifestyle and the likes of folk, wilderness, tribal or back country knowledge that simply hasn't made it's way onto the internet. And while there is a lot of whats taught in survival or bushcraft school online, that doesnt mean its all there and neither are those little thinga you only get from experience.I just matched the tone of the post I replied to

Nutnfancy is a pretty good channel of an ex-military dude who does a lot of outdoors stuff with guns.

Thanks anon.

Wish I had your talent to record cars. I hate when shit audio doesn't capture even part of the soul of a car.
Yamaha makes some beautiful music with their engines. The V10 from the Lexus LFA being a prime example.
I mean shit, their logo is 3 intersecting tuning forks.

I know anon I've learnt my lesson and will start posting longer recordings.

What happened was I started with a Soundcloud account which has limited minutes so I really could only post shorter clips... then I reckon'd I should get a youtube channel because way more people use it (really paid off btw) but all I had were these short Soundcloud-esque recordings. Now that I'm primarily youtubing I'll post 30+ minute vidyas, and continue to post 4-5 min versions on Soundcloud I guess.

>>731385
Don't be a faggot. Why wouldn't you sub so when something longer comes out you don't miss it?
