Put a bottle of liquor next to it over night. If it's empty in the morning you know it's Indian

Quartz or calcite. Scrape it on metal. If it leaves a trail it's calcite. If not, it's quartz. Enjoy the results!

How can you tell that it is only one of two types of rock from a single shit quality picture. At that resolution, I'm not entirely convinced that it isn't just a chunk of limestone.
