A couple years ago. Built one of those Quinzhee things. Basically, pile a bunch of snow into a large mound, then dig it out to make your hollowed out shelter.

A couple of decades ago? I vaguely remember having one when I was four but then we moved to Alabama. Did make dams out of mud but snow is a bit rare in Alabama especially in the quantity needed for a fort.
