How do you survive in an arid area (shrubland or desert)? How do you get water? How do you hunt and gather food?
build a well, green house, then farm?
I have a note book I keep and I go Inna desert a lot since I live in one. Pic dump incoming. Easier to post pics of pages.
Ugg my phone sucks, I even turned the pics but it insists on posting them sideways.
I skipped the traps part
Last one.

Shit anon, this is good stuff - probably one of the worthiest posts I've seen on here.
Just read on page, i'll read the others later, but nice to see someone posting their own stuff with useful information

Thanks guys, one more that's helped me out a lot making arrows or binding and repairing things.
Hey anon you should work on your information regarding Agave. The flowering stem isn't the primary thing that's eaten. The heart is.
Also the sap in leaves will cause severe skin rash and light sensitivity so don't tell people there is fibre in it unless they have large amounts of spare water to ferment and gloves.
Has anyone tried distilling urine? I read about a method that seems super easy
>fill one bottle halfway with piss
>place it sideways, mouth to mouth with empty bottle, tape together
>let piss bottle sit in sun, cover empty bottle with mud to cool it
>eventually you have 1/4 bottle of drinkable water

A standard solar still seems a lot more effective and reliable:
Find a divot or dig a hole, lay a tarp (preferably dark) across the hole, fill with any thing containing moisture (urine, moss, leaves, salt water), set container in middle, cover with tarp (preferably clear), place weight above container. If you're real clever, you put a hose into the container first so you can drink from it without opening the still and losing heat and moisture.
You form an organized society and plan out an irrigation system.

I am a society of one.

Transpiration bags are more effective.

Was just going to post this.

Anyone know if the tarp could be replaced with something natural? A big leaf might work.
