Hey guys, probably a stupid question but how do you clean your cookware in subzero temperatures without getting frostbite in your fingers?

Steel wool and place place it in the fire if it is metal.
>>
Heat up water on stove, use dish brush if you don't want to get wet or use waterproof gloves.
>>
I've got stainless cookware so I just boil up some snow and wipe it out.

scrub with snow, and anything left in the pot freezes, waiting to become part of the next meal.
>>
urine is actually great for cleaning

it totally washes out without leaving any hint of piss

just piss in your pots, seriously
not joking

This is 110% true. Especially if you can snowpack after.

Yeah, not a lot of people know this. Or they just think its bs when someone tells it to them.

It is a stupid question because people don't go out in sub zero weather

American pls, winter camping is awesome if there's enough snow for insulation
>>
>>672491
Oooo, the old snow makes the air warmer meme
>>

First of all you should be eating out of a plastic mug. Your pots should be used for melting snow and that's it. Second, freeze dried and instant food are the preferred alpine meals. There is a TON of water around you. No sense packing extra weight.

Pls don't think all Americans are pansies like that guy. There's a strong community that recreates all over the states all year round. There's a reason outdoor rec is a multi billion $ industry

You should still pack drinking water, though. At least a day's worth (3-4 liters).
