What is a reliable offline GPS app?

Some anon posted this a little over a year ago. I've downloaded the ap, and looked up maps. To be honest, it's a bit of work, but I'm going to plug away at it next time I have down time.
I'm working on turning my spare phone into a dedicated /out/ device. Got a life proof case for it for 10 bucks on woot!

I've been using Backcountry Navigator, does everything I need it to. It's $12 I think, but you can use the free version. I don't remember what features aren't in the free version.
