>>631240

>>
>>634240
I'm pretty sure I have that exact work bench. Also, how do I into whittling? Those spoons look great.
>>
>>631228
How do I into babby's first whittle?
>>
>>631856

Let's be honest, this shit is as bad, if not much much worse, than building cairns.
>>
>>636474
1. get knife
2. get stick
3. apply knife to stick
4. ????
5. profit
>>
>>634550
Mainly the knife but i used a shitty chisel i found to hollow out the bowls.
>>
>>636464
Yeah you more than likely do. I just bought some untreated pine from the hardware store in the size i wanted and pretty much started hacking out the bowl with a ordinary chisel until i had it deep enough.
The rest is just patiently hacking away at the wood until it resembles a spoon.
The knife i use is a Bahco but I'm pretty sure its just a rebranded Mora. It works fine. You just need something with a relatively thin blade to start.

Im glad you like my spoons. I have never been a creative person so i am happy to be able to make something that is at the least useful.

>I have never been a creative person so i am happy to be able to make something that is at the least useful.
Dude those spoons are way nicer than my first spoons.
>>
>>636634
A flat chisel or a curved chisel?
>>
>>636650
A V shaped one. To be honest its a lino cutter.
>>
>>637305
If you really did those spoons with a linoleum cutter and a bahco, I'm jelly of your skills
>>
>>637307
Well thanks! In this instance i think the main skill is to take your time. I have started using a coping saw to remove some of the handle material instead if using my knife. This really speeds things up.
>>
>>636637
Thanks so much! What tools do you use?
>>
>>637360
Did you take any pics during the chiseling process? Or do you have any tips?
>>
>>631228
Would love to have a go. What do you need? Knife and a piece of wood?
>>
>>632132
"OH MY GOD J WHAT IS THAT THING?
>>
>>631638
>>636372
>What set is that?
Not the same anon, but they look like knives made by Ben Orford. He's on Youtube and I think you can buy knives online.
>>
My first attempt at a spoon, I used the tip of the knife like a chisel to gauge out the bowl rather than go around so its a bit square. Off topic for the thread but I have been practising twisting rope with cotton twine. Its surprisingly easy
>>
>>631645

I don't take terribly many pictures I'm afraid chum.
>>
>>631228
I'm trying to get into bone whittling, but I can only hunt rabbits and I don't want to buy bones or reuse the ribs in my baby back ribs.
